School of Business and Technology

Recognizing the ever-expanding role of technology in our society, the School of Business and Technology is a testament to Ferrum College’s enduring legacy of nurturing future leaders and innovators. This school will continue to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel as journalists, entrepreneurs, and social change agents. Students engage in immersive learning experiences that blend cutting-edge technology with timeless business principles, preparing them to thrive in the rapidly evolving global marketplace.

Ferrum College students can enroll in TCS 100 (Core Fundamentals of Construction) and take the course at Build Smart Institute beginning in Fall 2024. There is an additional course fee of $1,500 for the course to defray the cost of supplies and transportation to and from Build Smart Institute for each day of class. The class is scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays to allow students to take the remainder of their fall semester courses on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday course schedule. (If the capacity of this section is exceeded, a second section will be offered Mondays and Wednesdays to allow those students to take the remainder of their courses on a Tuesday, Thursday course schedule.) This course is the prerequisite for the remaining construction courses in each of the four certificates available.
