Here at the Blue Ridge Folklife Festival, we have featured old-time traditional crafts. Nearly all of our artisans learned their crafts through an apprenticeship with family or community members. Craft Vendors cannot purchase pre-made items for resale. In 2026 the festival is expanding to become the Blue Ridge Folklife Festival and Arts and Crafts Show. Franklin Hall, Bassett Field, and the Franklin Hall Quad side of campus will showcase contemporary artisans, modern crafts, and interactive exhibits. Lakeside areas and the 1800-style farm museum will celebrate the region’s long-standing folklife traditions.
If you feel that your craft would be a good fit for our festival, please fill out the interest form below. If your application is accepted, a member of the BRFF staff will contact you about presenting your craft at the next BRFF.
