Maintaining good health in college is crucial for both academic and personal success. It can be easy to neglect self-care when faced with the demands of classes, homework, and extracurricular activities. Taking the time to exercise, eat well, and manage stress can help prevent burnout and improve overall well-being. Many health problems that may arise during college can be prevented through healthy habits such as regular check-ups, vaccination, and sleep hygiene.
Ferrum College is committed to supporting a healthy, vibrant, productive community. We all are part of that community. Be your best this year! STAY STRONG, STAY FIT, STAY WELL!
Our medical and behavioral health providers are qualified to manage most medical problems that might arise, both acute and chronic, in patients of all ages. This care extends from podiatrics to adults and geriatric patients and includes minor surgeries, x-ray capabilities, routine laboratory testing, and family planning.
Ferrum College Student Counseling Center (FCSCC) offers short-term, brief therapy and skills-based groups or workshops for students who are currently enrolled in classes. Counseling services are free of charge and there are no session limits; however, students may be referred to providers off campus for more involved therapy as appropriate or at the student’s request.

Ferrum College is a JED Campus where Resident Life and the Counseling Center provide wraparound services to help students develop coping skills, build social support, and thrive from being engaged.
