The Ferrum College Fitness Center is run with the Health and Human Performance program, and we are proud to offer both Personal Training and FREE Fitness Check-Ups. Our students and graduates are already certified as personal trainers or are in the process of becoming nationally certified.
All full-time faculty and staff will receive five complimentary sessions and all full-time students receive three complimentary sessions.

30 Day Memberships – Adults $30/30 days 30 day Membership – Students 16y/o and older $25/30 days 30 day Membership – Seniors 65 y/o and older $20/30 days
Memberships may be purchased online or at the front desk at the fitness center. Debit/Credit and Checks only.
Cardio equipment to include treadmills, elliptical, indoor bikes both recumbent and spin, rower, arm crank cardio located in big gym for ample spacing
Strength equipment to include hammer strength, free weights, dumbbells, and Nautilus strength machines
Studio with jumprope, steps, ExerTubes, light weights, yoga mats, yoga blocks, yoga bolsters, balance, fit balls, Bluetooth speaker, and interval timer
Full and half court for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, lacrosse, indoor soccer, conditioning drills, and more
Racquetball court
rules and Regulations
Ferrum College wants your experience in this facility to be a pleasant and safe one. Please follow the facility rules outlined below.
Participants utilize the fitness center and equipment at their own risk. Ferrum College is not responsible for any injury that may occur to individuals participating in any exercise activity. Participation in exercise activity is on a voluntary basis.
Consult a physician before beginning an exercise program.
All fitness center participants must be at least 16 years old. Special waivers may be required for any underage programs.
Proper athletic attire must be worn at all times. Athletic shoes must be worn at all times. Absolutely no sandals or open-toed or open-backed shoes are permitted.
All weight equipment should be handled in a responsible manner. Please refrain from slamming or dropping weights. Abuse of the equipment will not be tolerated. Users should replace all free weights on appropriate racks after use.
Have a spotter when using heavy weights. Collars are required at all times for bench press, incline press, decline press, and squats.
Participants must use the equipment only in the manner intended by the manufacturer. Please follow all instructions and posted signs carefully. Participants shall not move or modify the equipment in any manner whatsoever.
Do not use the equipment if you are taking any medication that causes drowsiness or have any medical condition that makes such use inappropriate.
Be courteous, let others work in with you, help spot someone if asked, and refrain from loud or abusive language.
Wipe down equipment after use.
Disorderly conduct and horseplay will not be tolerated.
Fitness center participants should report all equipment malfunctions to fitness center staff.
Food is not permitted in the fitness center. Water, Gatorade, or sports drinks are permitted provided they are in sealable, plastic containers. No glass bottles are permitted in the fitness center. Please dispose of all trash in the receptacles.
Alcohol, smoking, and drugs are not allowed on the premises. Do not drink alcoholic beverages before using the fitness center.
Ferrum College is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items. Any bags brought into the weight room or gym should be place agaist a wall out of the way.
Individuals not adhering to these policies may be asked to leave. Ferrum College Fitness Center Staff reserves the right to revoke the privileges of anyone who violates these rules.
