The health and human performance major is a health, fitness, physical performance, and nutrition program grounded in current research and science. The program provides strong collaborations with professional organizations and opportunities for national certifications as personal trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, exercise physiologists, and group fitness instructors.

Health and human performance is composed of two emphasis areas that allow students to focus their study.
Responsible for motivating and guiding clients to train toward their physical fitness goals, which could include losing weight, building muscle, increasing core strength, or improving cardiovascular fitness.
Help patients recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and improve movement and function through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and patient education. PTs assess individual needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and work to restore mobility, reduce pain, and prevent further injury.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining a strength and conditioning program for all sports, with the three major goals of improving athletic performance, reducing athletic injuries, and teaching lifelong fitness and movement skills.
