FERRUM, VA, November 6, 2025—Ferrum College will celebrate the achievements of its alumni and the generosity of its supporters during the Alumni Awards and Donor Appreciation Ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Blue Ridge Mountain Room in Franklin Hall. The event will recognize individuals who have made a significant impact on the College and the wider community. Click here to register to attend by November 9.
This year’s 2025 Outstanding Young Alumni Award will be presented posthumously to Alexandria M. Dixon ’19, honoring a life of service, leadership, and achievement. The Distinguished Alumni Award will be given to Sarah Q. Wagner ’94 and William Wagner ’94 for their professional accomplishments and continued dedication to Ferrum College. Additionally, the Beckham Medallion Award will be presented to George D. Yancey, Sr. ’67, recognizing a lifetime of achievement and service.
The ceremony will also honor donors whose generosity is shaping the future of Ferrum College and supporting students in achieving their educational goals. Individuals will be recognized who have contributed $1,000 or more since July 1, 2024, as well as those whose lifetime giving totals $100,000 or more.
“Our alumni and donors are the heart of Ferrum College, and this gathering offers us a special moment to celebrate their remarkable contributions,” said Dr. Mirta M. Martin, president of Ferrum College. “Through their service, leadership, and generosity, they shape the lives of our students and strengthen the legacy of our College.”
Guests will enjoy breakfast while celebrating the accomplishments of the honorees and reflecting on the collective impact of Ferrum College’s alumni and supporters. The event promises to highlight the importance of community, service, and giving back, reinforcing the College’s mission to empower students and foster lifelong connections.
