Ferrum College Hosts Agripalooza, Bringing Together Agriculture Leaders, Innovators, and Community Partners

FERRUM, VA, March 27, 2026 — Ferrum College proudly hosted Agripalooza: Where Technology Meets Tradition on March 24, 2026, welcoming farmers, entrepreneurs, students, and community partners for a dynamic day of learning, connection, and collaboration. Presented in partnership with Franklin County, Virginia, and the Greater Roanoke & NRV Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the event highlighted the strength of regional partnerships and the future of agriculture in Virginia. The Commonwealth’s Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry, Katie Frazier, delivered the keynote address.

“Agripalooza was designed to bring together innovation and tradition in agriculture, and this partnership truly made that vision a reality,” said Heather Fay, Director and Executive Regional Administrator of the Virginia SBDC Greater Roanoke & NRV. “Ferrum College provided not only a beautiful setting, but also an engaging and meaningful environment that elevated the entire experience for our participants, speakers, and partners. We are especially grateful for the collaboration of 27 businesses and organizations that came together to make this event such a success.”

The conference in celebration of National Agriculture Day featured engaging sessions, networking opportunities, and conversations that connected industry leaders with the next generation of agricultural professionals. Ferrum College students were active participants throughout the day, gaining valuable insights and building meaningful connections with experts across the field.

“On behalf of Ferrum College, I extend sincere gratitude to The Honorable Katie Frazier, Secretary of Agriculture for the Commonwealth of Virginia; Franklin County; and the Greater Roanoke & NRV Small Business Development Center for their partnership in Agripalooza,” said Ferrum College President Mirta M. Martin. “It was a privilege to host this event and to see our students engage so meaningfully with industry professionals – learning, connecting, and being inspired.”

Frazier said, “AgriPalooza is a prime example of why it’s so important for ag producers and service personnel to step away from their farms and businesses to invest in networks and in their growth. It was an honor to be part of an event designed to provide critical insights, tools, and connections to help agriculture thrive in the future!”

Agripalooza exemplified the power of collaboration in advancing agriculture, reinforcing Ferrum College’s commitment to supporting rural innovation, education, and community engagement.
