Lobby Box Office

The Lobby Box Office is located in the lobby of the theatre hosting the show and opens one hour before show time and remains open until the show begins.

Door Time

Doors open and audience seating begins thirty minutes before show time.

THEATRE PRODUCTION CANCELLATION POLICY

Ferrum College music and theatre  performances and special events will only be canceled for inclement weather in extreme cases. Please note that Ferrum College performances do not always follow the same closing procedures as Ferrum College. Inclement weather announcements are communicated via e-blasts, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

All purchased tickets will be refunded through Eventbrite.com for any canceled performance.

Theatre Arts Major

Why Study Theatre Arts at Ferrum College?

The Theatre Arts major emphasizes process drama, the value of improvisation, and ensemble. Students receive broad exposure to the various disciplines within theatre and are encouraged by the faculty to pursue their special interests.

THEATRE ARTS CAREER OPTIONS

Actor

People who entertain an audience by acting, singing or dancing. They play characters on stage or screen and work with the direction of the creative team to bring a piece of theatre to life.

Assistant Director

Facilitating the rehearsal process, taking notes, and facilitating the smooth running of the entire production process, and/or other duties as assigned.

Stage Manager

Supports and organizes all the different teams involved in the day-to-day running of a theatre production from rehearsals right through to performances and then post-show.

Casting Director

Select suitable actors for roles in film, television, radio, theater, advertisements, and music productions. They analyze scripts, schedule auditions, and manage actors’ contracts. They may be employed by studios or casting agencies, or work as contractors.
