Admissions Requirements
- Applicants wishing to enroll in the Ferrum’s MEd program need to meet all criteria established in our Graduate School Catalog in addition to:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 3.0 GPA* or higher | *If your GPA falls between 2.75 and 2.99 and you still want to be considered for admission, please include a supplemental section with your Statement of Professional Goals contextualizing your previous academic performance, including any extraordinary circumstances that impacted your previous coursework. Additionally, the Director of Graduate Programs in Education may request a virtual interview.
- Transcripts | Unofficial transcripts for all postsecondary (undergraduate and graduate) coursework completed can be submitted at the time of application. If admitted, the college must receive all official transcripts before the third week of your first class term.
- Current resume, including evidence of teaching license or relevant experience for non-licensed applicants AND 3 professional and/or academic references (Name, email address, phone number, nature of academic or academic relationship).
- Statement of Professional Goals | Responding to the following prompt: How will this program help you achieve your career goals? You have two options on how to submit your statement: a 1 to 2-page written statement (PDF) or a 2 to 4-minute screencast video response (via a shareable URL link saved in a PDF).
