Business administration give students opportunities to develop the administrative skills and the background knowledge necessary to deal with demanding and changing situations. Business majors develop strengths in oral and written communications and decision-making skills.
During the freshman and sophomore years, the student concentrates in the liberal arts and receives an introduction to the basic functions and tools of business. In the junior and senior years, the student has flexibility in determining the area of professional concentration that will meet particular academic and career plans.
ENACTUS (Entrepreneurship, Action, and Us) offers students the opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills through learning, practicing, and teaching the principles of free enterprise. ENACTUS teams teach important concepts through educational outreach projects, including market economics, entrepreneurship, personal and financial success, and business ethics, to better themselves and their communities.
Business administration is composed of five emphasis areas that offer the business student an opportunity to emphasize an area of special interest and prepare for a specialized business career.
Hires and interviews new staff and administers pay rates, among other things.
Works for banks, credit unions, independent lenders, and mortgage companies to help applicants apply for loans.
Tracks the financial situation of the company and economic conditions in general. They predict the impact of events and policy changes, reporting their findings to the financial director or controller.
