Science Seminar Series to Present “Wildlife on Campus: A Collaborative Camera Trapping Study on Two College Campuses”

Ferrum, VA, September 3, 2025 – Ferrum College’s Science Seminar Series will present “Wildlife on Campus: A Collaborative Camera Trapping Study on Two College Campuses,” on Friday, September 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Garber Hall 106. The program is free and open to the public and the campus community.

Dr. Todd Fredericksen, associate professor of forestry and wildlife at Ferrum College, and Mr. Jason Worley ’02, a former biology professor at Patrick and Henry Community College, will discuss their collaboration on a study of wildlife on both college campuses.

Other Ferrum College students and graduates involved in the photographic study of wildlife are Wylie Martin, William Shilling, Kaitlyn Barbour, Bailey Peek, and Ethan Fragoso.

This wildlife study celebrates the biodiversity of our campus and the dedication of our faculty, students, and alumni, while our partnership with Patrick & Henry Community College shows how working together enriches both learning and discovery,” said Dr. Mirta M. Martin, president of Ferrum College.
