FERRUM, VA, December 5, 2024 – On November 20, Ferrum College’s Chrysalis Literary and Arts Magazine held its reveal of the Fall 2024 magazine. Chrysalis publishes student, faculty and staff work including photographs and other visual art, poetry, and prose. At the reveal every semester, creators have the opportunity to read from their writing or discuss their visual art or photographs.
Early in each semester, an invitation goes out to the College community to submit work to the publication. The Chrysalis student staff and editor-in-chief select submissions they will publish and lay out the magazine. Independent judges, who do not see the names of those submitting their work, choose the award-winning selections in each category. The cover art for this issue is a photograph submitted by Cayden West, Danger Berries.
Professor of English and advisor to Chrysalis Dr. Katherine Grimes said, “Editor-in-chief Scout Lynch and the staff of Chrysalis did a fine job with choosing among an enormous number of excellent submissions. Congratulations to the contest winners, the staff, and everyone who has work in the magazine!”
