FERRUM, VA, November 17, 2025 — Ferrum College celebrated the achievements of its alumni and the generosity of its dedicated supporters during the annual Alumni Awards and Donor Appreciation Ceremony on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the Blue Ridge Mountain Room. The event honored individuals whose service, leadership, and philanthropy continue to strengthen the College and enrich the student experience.
This year, the 2025 Outstanding Young Alumni Award was presented posthumously to Alexandria M. Dixon ’19, recognizing her life of service, leadership, and extraordinary accomplishment. The Distinguished Alumni Award was awarded to Sarah Q. Wagner ’94 and William Wagner ’94 for their professional achievements and steadfast commitment to Ferrum College. The College also presented the Beckham Medallion Award to George D. Yancey, Sr. ’67, honoring his lifetime of impact and dedicated service.
The ceremony also acknowledged the generosity of donors whose support is shaping the future of Ferrum College. Individuals who contributed $1,000 or more since July 1, 2024, along with those whose lifetime giving totals exceed $100,000, were honored for their profound impact on student success and the College’s mission.

Martin, president of Ferrum College. “Through their service, leadership, and generosity, they shape the lives of our students and strengthen the legacy of our College.”
