FERRUM, VA, April 2, 2026 — The third annual Blue Ridge BBQ Cook Off and the 11th annual Moonshine Heritage Car Show will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Institute & Museum (BRIM) at Ferrum College. The family-friendly event is FREE and open to the public, featuring a full day of barbecue competition, live music, historic vehicles, food vendors, and activities for all ages.
Held across the BRIM grounds on the Ferrum College campus, the event will showcase more than 75 vehicles that were used, or could have been used, to haul moonshine, offering an authentic glimpse into the region’s storied past. The Moonshine Heritage Car Show is coordinated in partnership with the Outlaw Cruisers Car Club.
In addition to the car show, the Blue Ridge BBQ Cook Off invites backyard cooks to compete in a lively cook-off set against the backdrop of the BRIM’s 1800s farm museum. Attendees can enjoy a variety of food and craft vendors, including favorites like Rocky Mount Smokehouse.
Live music will take place throughout the day, featuring performances by Kam’ron Smith, Clover-Lynn, and Creedence Clearwater Recital. Guests can also enjoy beverages from regional craft producers, including Living Proof Brewery, A Few Old Goats Brewing, Scuffle Hill Brewing Company, Five Mile Mountain Distillery, and Brady’s Distillery, offering a wide selection of craft beverages and moonshine tastings.
Stars from the hit reality television series “Moonshiners,” including Henry Lee Law, Austin Law, and Tickle, will also be in attendance, giving guests the opportunity to meet some of the most recognizable figures associated with the region’s moonshine heritage.

“Events like this celebrate the rich cultural traditions of our region while bringing the community together in a fun, engaging way,” said Bethany Worley, executive director of the Blue Ridge Institute & Museum. “From the history behind the vehicles to the artistry of barbecue, children’s activities and live music throughout the day, vendors, and local craft beverages, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.”
Mirta Martin, president of Ferrum College, highlighted the importance of partnership and community impact. “We are grateful for the opportunity to welcome visitors and guests to Ferrum College for this signature event in partnership with our Blue Ridge Institute & Museum. This gathering showcases the heritage, creativity, and spirit of our region,” said Martin. “It also provides a meaningful opportunity to share the vibrant experiences our campus and community have to offer for those who visit.”
Additional attractions include tours of the farm museum, a large children’s activity area, and expanded vendor offerings, making this a full-day destination for families and visitors of all ages.
