Dear Panther Family,
Ferrum College deeply grieves the tragic loss of all life and the senseless act of violence that has recently taken place on a college campus. We condemn such acts in the strongest terms and we mourn the precious lives that have been lost.
As a community grounded in Christian values, we affirm the sanctity of every human life. Violence has no place anywhere – and certainly no place on a college campus, which should always be a place for learning, growth, and fellowship. Any statements or comments that attempt to excuse, diminish, or justify violence – whether made by those within or outside our community – stand in direct opposition to the values of Ferrum College. It is time we unite as members of the human race, standing firmly together in peace, compassion, and respect for one another.
Ferrum College holds the families, friends, and communities of all impacted by violence in our prayers. I ask each of us to recommit ourselves to building a better world defined by peace and dignity for all.
