Sharon Stein

Dr. Sharon E. Stein came to Ferrum College in 1998 and teaches a variety of courses in Developmental Psychology, such as Child Development, Lifespan, Psychopathology of Childhood, Parenting, Child Maltreatment, Media and Violence, and Cognitive Development. She also teaches Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, and Learning and Cognition for the Masters of Psychology.

Dr. Stein has significant applied developmental and community service experience. She served as chair of a Board of Directors of a nonprofit preschool, chair of the Education Committee of Temple Emanuel, Board member of Temple Emanuel, and member of a Child Protection Team, and is a former foster parent. She has also conducted research in developmental areas such as Pedagogy and the impact of media on development.
