As a developmental psychologist, Dr. Stein’s research centers on learning disabilities, social-perceptual development, and pedagogy. She has mentored undergraduate and graduate research projects and explored the cognitive and social development of children and college students. Her current work emphasizes critical thinking and educational methods in higher education, combining cognitive theory with applied teaching strategies. Dr. Stein has significant applied developmental and community service experience. She served as chair of the Board of Directors of a nonprofit preschool, chair of the Education Committee of Temple Emanuel, Board member of Temple Emanuel, member of a Child Protection Team, and is a former foster parent.
