Reverend David “Pastor Dave” Taylor

Reverend David “Pastor Dave” Taylor serves as chaplain at Ferrum College, where he provides spiritual leadership and pastoral care for the campus community.

An ecumenically minded Christian pastor and ordained minister in the Wesleyan tradition, Pastor Taylor brings a diverse and distinguished professional background to his role. His experience includes more than 15 years in pastoral ministry, 40 years in higher education teaching, 25 years as an industry executive, seven years in executive coaching, and 22 years of military service as an officer in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Pastor Taylor previously served at Ferrum College as assistant chaplain, leading Bible studies, providing pastoral counseling, and building meaningful relationships with students, faculty, and staff. He has been actively involved in student-led faith initiatives, including partnerships with organizations such as Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Young Life, and has supported weekly campus discipleship and community study gatherings. His ministry emphasizes spiritual formation, prayer, ethical leadership, and compassionate presence, with particular strength in guiding individuals through transitions, crises, and discernment.

As chaplain, Pastor Taylor focuses on strengthening and expanding faith-based opportunities across campus while serving all students with care, respect, and inclusivity. His student-centered approach reflects a commitment to helping students develop resilience, character, purpose, and hope as they navigate their college experience.
