My name is Hannah Smith Sarver. I’m from North Carolina and earned a bachelor of science in Environmental Science, graduating in May 2021.

At Ferrum, I was a member of the women’s swim team during my junior and senior years. I also participated in Lions Club, Panther Christian Athletes club, and International Music Appreciation club.  In addition to the honors program, I am a member of Lambda Sigma Honors society.

During my time at Ferrum I learned and experienced so many wonderful things enabling me to develop incredibly useful skills that will follow me throughout my career. I also was able to establish long-lasting relationships with peers and professors. I hope the Boone Honors program and Ferrum is as kind and embracing for everyone as it was for me.

Hello, my name is Bryce Beard. I am a 2021 Ferrum College and Boone Honors Program graduate from Lexington, Virginia. I majored in chemistry and plan on getting a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and doing research after I graduate.
I have many pets at home and love taking care of them, reading about mythology and playing video games in my free time.

Hey there! My name is Elina Baltins, Ferrum class of ‘21. I grew up in Maryland, where I enjoyed time on the Chesapeake Bay. After high school, I moved to the northern neck of Virginia and began my studies at Ferrum to earn my degree in Pre-Professional Health Sciences–Pre-Med with a minor in psychology.

At Ferrum, I enjoyed expanding my horizons not only academically, but also in athletics. I joined the swim team with no prior competitive swimming experience my freshman year. I had such a great time building strength and breaking records with my team. Then, my senior year, I joined Ferrum College’s first track and field team. I truly take pride in being part of such a great program and look forward to its future.

Another fantastic program I’m proud to be a part of is the Boone Honors Program. The BHP had pushed me tremendously to perform the best I could academically and connected me with so many like-minded peers.

In May 2022, I received my Master of Arts in Biomedical Sciences from Edward S. Via College of Osteopathic Medicine / Bluefield University. In Fall 2022, I will begin the doctoral program in Translational Medicine, Biology, and Health at Virginia Tech.

Though my 3 years at Ferrum College went by quickly, it was an unforgettable experience that I’ll always be grateful for.
