The Blue Ridge Institute and Museum has rotating exhibits open to the public and schedules historical reenactments and other programs throughout the year, including special interactive activities for homeschoolers. See https://www.ferrum.edu/brim.
Ferrum College also hosts a variety of summer camps. Please consult the college website for opportunities as they become available.
The Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre encourages children, teenagers, and adult community members to audition for most plays. Professionals with decades of experience in creative drama for children guide college students who assist with children during rehearsals and performances. High School
Ferrum College faculty are available as resources for home school teachers (parents) who would like ideas for hands-on activities for their high school students, particularly for science classes where field or laboratory work would be beneficial. Contact the Office of Academic Affairs with any questions about how Ferrum College might be able to help enhance your curriculum: officeofacademicaffairs@ferrum.edu.
High school students in their final two years (11th and 12th grade) may enroll in one on-campus Ferrum College course tuition free as a non-degree, dual enrollment student each fall and spring semester. Some courses have fees for supplies or special services. Contact the Office of Academic Affairs or the Admissions Office to select the course and enroll.
