FERRUM, VA, March 12, 2026 – Ferrum College will host Agripalooza: Where Technology Meets Tradition on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in celebration of National Agriculture Day. Presented in partnership with Franklin County, Virginia, and the Greater Roanoke & NRV Small Business Development Center, the in-person conference will bring together farmers, entrepreneurs, and community partners to explore innovation and opportunity in today’s agricultural economy. Commonwealth Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry Katie Frazier (pictured) will headline the program as the keynote speaker.

Registration for Agripalooza is $50 per person and includes access to all conference sessions, networking opportunities, light refreshments, and lunch. Additional event details and registration information are available on the Virginia SBDC website.

Designed for agriculture business owners, aspiring agripreneurs, and the economic development and community partners who support the region’s agricultural ecosystem, Agripalooza will provide practical insights and valuable connections to help participants strengthen and grow their work. The program will feature interactive breakout sessions, resource connections, and opportunities to collaborate with others committed to the future of agriculture in rural communities.

“This conference is about ensuring that both established and next generation of folks in the agriculture industry have access to the resources, connections, and innovations they need to be successful in today’s economy,” said Heather Fay, director of Virginia SBDC.

Hosting Agripalooza demonstrates Ferrum College’s long-standing dedication to agriculture and rural entrepreneurship in the region. Situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the college has deep roots in agricultural education and continues to promote innovation and sustainability through hands-on learning and collaborations with local producers and businesses.

“Agriculture is deeply woven into the history and future of our region, and Ferrum College is proud to serve as a place where tradition, innovation, and community come together,” said Dr. Mirta Martin, president of Ferrum College. “Events like Agripalooza create opportunities for farmers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to connect, share knowledge, and strengthen the agricultural economy that sustains our rural communities.”

Dr. Nancy Brubaker, program coordinator of Agricultural Sciences at Ferrum College, said the conference reflects the College’s mission to support both education and industry. “Agripalooza highlights the powerful intersection of technology, tradition, and entrepreneurship in agriculture,” Brubaker said. “By bringing together producers, business leaders, and community partners, we’re creating a space where ideas can be shared, partnerships can form, and participants can gain practical tools and insights to help move their farms and agribusinesses forward. Ferrum College students will also have the opportunity to experience and learn from Agripalooza, gaining valuable insights and hands-on exposure to the industry.”
