Ferrum College uses PaperCut as its campus-managed printing platform. Students can print to our campus copiers from the Stanley Library computers and other computer labs, as well as from their own computers and mobile devices.

Students receive a $10 print allotment per semester. Black-and-white prints cost $.08, and color prints cost $.20. The poster printer costs $2 per linear foot.

For instructions on how to print using mobile devices with PaperCut, click here.

  • Processor: Intel Core i5 or i7 processor or better
  • Memory: 8 to 16 GB RAM
  • Hard Drive: 250 to 500 GB

Television Options for On-Campus Residents

As of July 31, 2019, Ferrum College no longer provides cable TV services in campus housing. In keeping with current digital trends, we are promoting personal online streaming services. The following are some suggestions to get you started. You may also use any streaming services in your home cable TV package.

Connecting Your Computer to Campus

Administrator rights are required to install any software on a college-owned computer. A Ferrum College employee-issued computer comes complete with a VPN client and remote support software. It is strongly advised to test and make sure that you have a working VPN connection prior to traveling to avoid complications.

Making Phone Calls

In addition, our VOIP telephone system allows you to take your office extension with you wherever you work from. You may access a web browser version of your phone via your employee dashboard via the Ferrum College Sign-in link. You also have the option of setting up the mobile app on your personal cell phone (or computer desktop upon request).

Please contact the Computer Helpdesk for additional information on using these resources.
