The major in computer science offers students the opportunity to pursue
professional careers in computer science. Students are prepared to
go directly into the business world or to go into graduate study.
The major is based on the guidelines recommended by the Association
of Computing Machinery, a worldwide organization of thousands of computer
scientists, educators and professionals. This major is designed to
help students achieve professional status in an ever-evolving field.
Some of the positions available to computer science graduates are
computer designer, computer analyst, systems engineer, software engineer,
computer technician, computer marketer, and computer consultant.
Students can enter the program with little or no prior computer skills.
Students from other colleges have been able to transfer into the program
successfully. Opportunities for Internships and Practicum work experience
on campus are available to students in this program.
