Social Entrepreneurship Minor Sample Courses

Social Problems

Through a sociological lens, this course will examine societal issues, social structures, and human responses within the context of community, nation, and world. Through the practical application of critical thinking, students will develop an understanding of global phenomena and barriers that people face, their causes, and social solutions.

Free Enterprise Strategies and Implementation

This is an elective course designed to allow students to obtain practical knowledge and experience about the way in which the free enterprise market economy functions. Students, as participants in the Entrepreneurial Action Us (ENACTUS) organization (formally SIFE), will design and organize structured activities on campus and in the community that utilize, apply, and teach the procedures, practices, and problems encountered in implementing strategies that encourage free enterprise.

General Sociology

This course enables students to conceptualize the social world and their role in it through application of sociological terminology and theory.
