A minor in One Health will expand a student’s understanding of human, animal, and environmental health and emphasize the interdependence of topics in these areas. Students will increase their skills in quantitative data collection and analysis, as well as analyze the impacts of health issues on societies at all levels: local, national, and global.
This is an interdisciplinary course designed to introduce students to the concept of One Health, which recognizes that the health of people is connected to the health of animals and the environment.
Investigates applied animal and crop breeding and genetics, the anatomy and physiology of reproduction, and the factors affecting reproductive efficiency. Also includes a section on artificial insemination, embryo transfer, cloning, and newer technologies.
Focuses on etiology, symptoms, prevention, and treatment of diseases of common domestic animals, developing principles of safe, effective control and protection.
