Provides study of concepts in applied animal behavior to properly and safely handle animals, with a basic focus on restraint and containment with the most current humane and ethical practices. The course will also focus in zoonosis and risk assessment within the parameters of domestic animal handling while providing an experiential component to practice at the 100 level.
Provides study of the scientific aspects of equine breeding, reproduction, nutrition, conditioning, performance, and selection. The class also includes one section on the laws concerning horses.
This course familiarizes students with the basic principles of horse care and management, including basic nutrition, health care, and correct handling and management practices.
