Your gift makes a difference.
Every gift - no matter the amount - will make a difference in the life of a student at Ferrum College.

By making your tax-deductable gift and increasing donor participation, your contribution can be a determining factor for corporations and foundations when considering whether to fund grant requests from the College.

What Can My Gift Support?

Your gifts to Ferrum support many different aspects of life on the campus. All you need to do is let us know how you would like your gift directed. Our greatest need is for unrestricted gifts to the Ferrum Fund.

These unrestricted gifts are used wherever the College needs them most. Gifts to the Ferrum Fund have the largest impact on financial aid to students. Additionally you may direct your gift towards endowments, campus construction projects, or one of our many other programs.

Congress Allows IRA Rollovers to Continue

Through its Financial Rescue Package, Congress included an extension on the IRA Rollover plan that allows individuals to make charitable gifts from their IRA plans, thereby avoiding taxation on those dollars and meeting the IRS’s annual distribution requirements. Participation in this direct charitable rollover is subject to these stipulations ...

  • » The donor must be at least age 70 ½.

  • » The maximum rollover is $100,000.

  • » The rollover must be a direct gift (no planned gifts).

  • » The rollover must be made by December 31, 2009.

Since its enactment, donors have used this plan to make new gifts or to satisfy pledges to Ferrum. For more information about the IRA Rollover Plan, please call toll-free 1-877-337-7861, option 1, or write development@ferrum.edu.
