For the first time in the Crooked Road Dulcimer Festival's history, we are offering one scholarship for a child's workshop fee.

This scholarship has been generously provided by dulcimer player and teacher, Nancy Galambush.

The scholarship recipient must be a child between the ages of 10 and 15. They must be able to listen, follow directions, sit for the length of a class (1.5 hours), and most importantly, want to learn to play the dulcimer. The child must also be able to sing a few songs on their own. A dulcimer will be provided if needed. The child must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who must remain with the child throughout each class. The scholarship winner will be selected by three judges on March 1st.

To qualify, a one-page handwritten letter must be submitted answering the following question: “Why do I want to take a dulcimer class?” Submissions may be emailed to bri@ferrum.edu or mailed to The Blue Ridge Institute, P.O. Box 1000, Ferrum, VA 24088.

Applications must be received by February 29th.
