Lifelong Learning Institute

The Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) at Ferrum College offers non-credit, cultural, intellectual, and social experiences to the Franklin County community and surrounding areas. Participants are able to take classes taught by experienced, retired, active, and/or certified instructors who take delight in enriching the lives of children and adults.

It is our mission to show people that learning is a life long venture. No matter what age,  there is something to learn every day. We want to encourage individuals to learn something new, try something interesting, and create new exciting experiences for yourself and others.

Class Description:

Ferrum College’s Lifelong Learning Institute will present “Understanding and Learning to Read Food Labels” on Saturday, June 15, from 2 – 5 p.m., in the Virginia Room in Franklin Hall on campus, 445 Ferrum Mountain Road, Ferrum.

This $10 course, taught by Ferrum College Adjunct Instructor of Natural Science and wellness coach Inge Terrill, will help consumers learn how to read food labels, become savvier food shoppers, and improve their health. Participants should bring to class at least 5 – 10 food and drink containers to assess.

Join us on Tuesday, May 7th or Friday , May 10th from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. for a CPR/AED/First Aid Certification course. This incredible course will help you become certified to help a person in need. The cost for the session will be $30 which includes the materials.
