SUMMARY:Oldtime Dance and Flatfoot Contest
DESCRIPTION:Come join us in the Rex Stephenson Theatre on the campus at Ferrum College for an evening of hot tunes and flatfoot dancing! \nNovember 14\, 2006\, 6:30 p.m. \nHosted by Appalachian Music at Ferrum College. \nAll are welcome. The Rex Stephenson Theatre is in the lower level of Schoolfield Hall\, accessible by elevator or stairs from the ground-level entrance on the side of the building facing the main campus. \n$7 for adults\nFREE for kids under 12 and for Ferrum College students\, staff\, and faculty. \nNo extra charge to enter the contest! \nTickets are available at this link or at the door. \nLots of folks remember dances in the lower level of Schoolfield Hall years ago. The popular band Larry Sigmon and the Virginia Girls is ready to do it up right on November 14. They appeared recently in Ferrum at the Blue Ridge Folklife Festival and Arts & Crafts Show\, and Larry Sigmon was honored by the college’s Appalachian Music program at the 2024 Grand Ol’ Ferrum Opry. They have performed often at the Floyd Country Store and many other venues and festivals. \nSee the Facebook page Appalachian Music at Ferrum College for updates and more photos and videos. \nSpecific directions for getting to the Rex Stephenson Theatre and other details about visiting the campus are at this link. \n
