DESCRIPTION:Immerse your senses in 1800 rural Blue Ridge life at the Blue Ridge Institute and Museum’s Blue Ridge Farm Museum\, a re-created Virginia-German farmstead. Join our costumed interpreters in a host of household and farm chores\, including preparing meals over the open hearth\, driving oxen\, blacksmithing\, and tending heirloom gardens and historic breeds of animals. \nThe living history farm on Rt. 40 in Ferrum is open every Saturday until Sept. 5\, 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. \nGroup Tours are available by reservation April through November.\nClick HERE for more information. \nSee the Blue Ridge Institute and Museum – BRIM in social media for more photos and updates.

DESCRIPTION:The Smith Mountain Lake Water Quality Program will report on its 40th year of collaboration among Ferrum College science faculty\, staff\, students\, and community volunteers. Dr. Delia Heck is project director in 2026. \nStudent interns in summer 2026: Dashawn Nichting\, Gracie Edwards\, Dew Adams\, and Ashly Cutcliff. \n   \nNext Friday\, Sept. 11: Dr. Dana Ghioca-Robrecht\, Data Scientist and Aquatic Ecologist\, will report on her sabbatical project analyzing 40 years of data. \n
