Lee-Ann O’Dell
Bio:
Lee-Ann is a lifelong educator, having spent 25 years at two flagship universities in Virginia, the College of William and Mary and the University of Virginia. She has worked in undergraduate admission, staffed the office of a chief academic officer, and run a graduate and continuing education center before moving to the academic side of the house. From 2011 until retirement in 2019, Lee-Ann was an academic program director for K-12 professional learning across the state of Virginia, assessed undergraduate and graduate certificate programs, and served for three years as the academic program director for criminal justice education for the National Academy program at the FBI on behalf of the University of Virginia. During her time at Quantico, Lee-Ann evaluated and revised the criminal justice education curriculum and provided professional development to the instructional staff of the National Academy.
Lee-Ann holds an undergraduate degree from an institution similar to Ferrum, a small, liberal arts college in Virginia Beach – Virginia Wesleyan, and a master’s degree in higher education leadership from the College of William and Mary where she focused her studies on partnerships between higher ed and K-12. This past summer she spent time at the Satchidananda Ashram where she studied integral yoga and achieved her 200-hour registered integral yoga teacher certification. She is a trained mindfulness-based stress reduction meditation instructor.
At Ferrum, Lee-Ann is part of the team at the Student Counseling Center. She works with students, faculty, and staff 1:1 with breathwork, meditation, and restorative yoga practices. She also teaches a group restorative yoga class weekly for the campus.
