Alumni Success Stories
Nate Daniels ’99
Nate Daniels majored in criminal justice and minored in music at Ferrum College. He played Panther football and trumpet for the band. He also served as class president and worked in the sports information office. After his 1999 graduation, Nate went on to play professional football in the Arena Football League and in 2017, he founded Daniels Sports Performance, his own athletic training facility located in Richmond, VA. He is a certified personal trainer, and a certified speed, agility, and quickness trainer. Nate also won Collegiate All-American honors and has been inducted into the Ferrum College Hall of Fame and the Fairfax High School Sports Hall of Fame.
Brianne Scott ’18
Brianne Scott graduated from Ferrum College in 2018 after majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry and forensic science. In November 2018, she began working in the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke, VA, as a forensic autopsy technician. Brianne often returns to campus to speak to Dr. Katie Goff’s Minds-N-Medicine students, a club dedicated to supporting each other’s experiences as early career students of health professions.
Caitlin Menefee ’09
Caitlin Menefee earned a Bachelor of Science in general agriculture from Ferrum College in 2009. She now owns and operates Forget Me Not Flowers, a quaint flower shop located in the small but bustling town of Somerville, VA. Twyla Tatum ’04
Twyla Tatum earned her bachelor of science in accounting from Ferrum College in 2004. As a student at the College, she was very active in Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) which is now called Entrepreneurial ACTion (ENACTUS). Twyla is the president of Ferrum College’s Alumni Association and holds a master’s degree in business. She currently works for the Federal Reserve.
