Hello! My name is Shea Hagy. I am from Rocky Mount, Virginia, currently residing in Roanoke. I attended Ferrum College for my undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, and graduated from the Boone Honors Program in 2012. While at Ferrum, I worked full time and developed time management skills very quickly! My first job was in retail and needless to say, I learned a lot about people while working with the public. From there and upon graduation from Ferrum, I began working as a case manager and later a mental health clinician at Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare. It was then that I moved to Roanoke, Virginia. I learned so much about the field and mental illness while working with this company. In December of 2012 after taking a few months for a break, I started my Masters in Mental Health Counseling with Walden University through an online program. I finished this degree in August of 2015 and began my LPC licensure in February of 2016. Currently, I am working on my LPC licensure and am the Crisis Stabilization Supervisor for Support Systems, Inc., a private mental health company located in Vinton, Virginia. I have been with this company since February 2015 and have built our Crisis Stabilization program from the ground up, with some help and guidance from my mentors and supervisor. Our company assists the seriously mentally ill population with crisis situations to help them decrease symptoms and stabilize. Our crisis services are short term and outpatient, but are very important to the clients in our community. I am also the Quality Assurance Supervisor for our company. I am responsible for checking in with all of our clients to make sure they are satisfied with services and ensure that all human rights complaints are addressed accordingly. I have been through several different jobs in the behavioral health field in the past few years but feel I have found my place in my current position with crisis. Crisis ensures that every day is different for me and keeps me on my toes!
