My name is Rachel Scott and I graduated in the spring of 2016 with a psychology major and a criminal justice minor. While at Ferrum I was a member of the women’s soccer team and the women’s lacrosse team; I was also actively involved with clubs, such as the Ferrum Psychology Club. I cowrote a research article with Dr. Angie Dahl, which was published and presented at two conferences. Thanks to the Honors Program, I was able to travel to Europe during my time at Ferrum, one of my best college experiences. I began working the week after graduation at a mental health service called Support Systems, Inc. in Rocky Mount. I currently work there as a Qualified Mental Health Professional with a focus on adult treatment. I am applying to various masters programs in the area. Hopefully I’ll get into Radford’s clinical counseling program and then pursue my PhD at Virginia Tech. I’d love to practice in the field for a while and then teach college classes to foster a love for psychology in others too.
