Freshman Seminar Program
Freshman Seminar aims to familiarize new students with the opportunities of the liberal arts college experience as well as their rights and responsibilities in living in an academic community. Students gain knowledge of and are encouraged to access an array of campus curricular and co-curricular resources crucial to a fulfilling education, and building a foundation for personal, academic and professional success.
All new first-year students are enrolled in a Freshman Gateway Seminar (GWS 101) or, if selected for the Boone Honors Seminar an Honors Seminar (HON 100), during the first semester. The professor for that course also serves the academic advisor for the first semester and until the student is assigned to a program advisor within the major.
