Coordinator of Residence Life and Programming
Ferrum College has an opening for the Coordinator of Residence Life position. This is a year-round, live-in position responsible for coordinating residence life for approximately 300-400 students. Responsibilities include prioritization of community development, creation of innovative programming to meet student needs holistically, supervision of RA’s, implementation of the student accountability process and other duties to support student development and residence life. On-call and crisis intervention duties are required.

Regional Admissions Representative - Tidewater
This position is vital in the regional representation of Ferrum College. The individual will develop annual recruitment initiatives, strategies, and tactics to meet new student enrollment targets. The incumbent will manage activities necessary to recruit students within the regional territory of the Tidewater Virginia area. Representatives must amass significant knowledge about their territory and exercise discretion and independent judgment in developing strategies while providing a high level of service to prospective students and families throughout the recruitment process from the point of inquiry and/or application through matriculation to Ferrum. The regional admissions representative will often be the prospective student’s first contact with the college, which makes the relationship-building process critical. This individual is also a liaison between prospective families and the faculty and staff of departments across campus. In this role, the admissions representative will be responsible for the general recruitment of all academic programs. Teamwork is a crucial component of this position, as is the ability to work independently, with a strong work ethic, and to see things through to completion.
Essential Functions:
- Work collaboratively with the Admissions team. Use past and current data to analyze strategies and events’ impact, progress, and effectiveness within their recruitment territory to inform the path forward.
- Develop outreach campaigns to meet the unique interest of the assigned recruitment territory.
- Develop innovative ideas to increase awareness to pique the interest of new prospects and their families, school counselors, principals, superintendents, independent counselors, as well as community-based organizations.
- Review applications and render decisions.

Transfer Coordinator
This position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic enrollment planning for transfer student initiatives. The position works collaboratively with other offices on campus to provide seamless transfer services.
Essential Functions:
- Review and analyze transcripts for transfer credit. Determine and award transfer credit for degree completion at Ferrum College. Enter credit into campus wide enterprise system – Ellucian Colleague.
- Plan and implement comprehensive support services for transfer students.
- Develop partnerships and maintain relationships with regional community colleges and universities.
- Partner with other Enrollment Management and other departments to develop maintain transfer services and event programming and resources.
- Collaborate with academic units to ensure accurate information is available to students.
- Collaborate with Enrollment Management and with Communications and Marketing to develop branded communication and marketing materials.
- Stay current with transfer trends in order to maintain excellent transfer services.
- Prepare briefings and reports on the Ferrum College transfer student enrollment and retention progress to inform leadership and the college community.
- Serve as a liaison with other departments and institutions.
- Track students progress through communication and analysis for each academic term to ensure class attendance, academic progress and retention.
- Identify at-risk students, determines potential issues and connect them to tutoring/or correct any existing issues.

Director of Financial Aid
The Director of Financial Aid is a divisional manager and supervises financial aid personnel with a strong commitment to client service and a collaborative approach to problem solving. Supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited to; oversight of employee selection, training, daily work performance, performance evaluation, and counseling when necessary. This position is responsible for all aspects of processing undergraduate and graduate aid, awarding a variety of scholarships and veteran benefits. The Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships coordinates services between campus units and oversees the awarding of Federal, State, Institutional aid (unfunded and endowment), and coordination of outside scholarship funds.

- The director shares accountability for recruitment and retention in administration of federal, state, institutional and scholarship funds.
- The director works closely with the Vice President for Enrollment Management in terms of budgets, strategies for delivery of student aid, and the analysis and implementation of appropriate financial aid models to support college recruitment and retention efforts,
- The director develops policies and procedures in accordance with federal and state regulations, and university guidelines related to a variety of scholarships,
- Assures data integrity,
- Budget management,
- Disseminates data for federal, state and institutional reports.

Graphic Designer and Social Media Coordinator
The Graphic Designer and Social Media Coordinator will collaborate with other designers and employees to create effective and eye-catching images and campaigns to increase the College’s user base and support Ferrum College’s brand. Head Golf Coach
Ferrum College, a proud member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III, is looking for its next Head Golf Coach. Located in Ferrum, Virginia, this is a full-time, 12-month position that coaches both the men’s and women’s golf teams. Review of applications will begin immediately.
Primary Purpose: The Head Golf Coach will evaluate, recruit, coach and mentor qualified student-athletes that will compete at a high level in the classroom and on the course. The successful candidate will oversee the organization of all team practices, match and tournament schedules and budgets. This individual will put together a comprehensive recruitment plan and will ensure a culture of compliance within all NCAA Division III and Ferrum College rules and regulations, and ensure all coaches and student-athletes comply with same. Finally, the successful candidate will serve in administrative capacity as needed and directed by the Director of Athletics.
Essential Functions:
- Evaluate, recruit, coach and mentor qualified student-athletes and prepare the team for a full intercollegiate varsity golf experience.
- Oversee all aspects of the golf program operations, including, but not limited to, the development and management of all team practices, match and tournament scheduling, recruitment, academic monitoring, budgets and the supervision of all volunteer and student assistant coaching staff.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment plan, ensuring a robust and competitive roster from the local, regional and national landscape.
- Ensure a culture of compliance around all NCAA Division III and Ferrum College rules and regulations and ensure all coaching staff members and student-athletes do the same.
- Travel locally, regionally and nationally for all regular-season and post-season events, conference and/or national meetings and fundraising, alumni and community events.
- Develop a yearly match and tournament schedule to ensure high-level competition in preparation for conference and NCAA/national competitions.
- Oversee student-athlete academic progress, be available for consultation/support for student-athletes and direct student-athletes to the appropriate academic professionals to ensure academic success.
- Select and purchase all equipment necessary to ensure a competitive golf program.
- Work with the Director of Athletics and Director of Facilities on the upkeep of the on campus driving range and all relevant equipment in the golf simulator room.
- Work closely with Sports Information Director to develop a media plan and be available for interviews and speaking engagements to internal and external constituents.
- Serve in administrative capacity, as well as other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Supervision Given:
- Oversight of any volunteer and student assistant coaches.
Qualifications:
Education/Experiences:
A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years coaching experience at the collegiate, club or high school level is required. A master’s degree, collegiate playing and/or coaching experience and PGA certification is preferred.

Financial Aid Counselor
Ferrum College is currently seeking a Financial Aid Counselor to assist the Senior Enrollment Officer and Director of Financial Aid in administering of financial aid programs.
Essential Functions:
Financial Aid Responsibilities:
- Counsel students and parents on the availability of financial aid and assist families with completion of all applications/forms. Counseling assignment to be determined by the Director of Financial Aid.
- Award new and returning students, including data entry of awards. Responsible for processing all aspects of student files, including but not limited to VTAG review and approval, Verification review and updates, Invalid Applications, aid appeals, and processing of all student loans. Counselor will complete data entry of applications, credit checks, and follow-up requests.
- Responsible for maintaining the Ferrum Financial Aid Email Account.
- Responsible for entering and maintaining all paper and electronic mail to appropriate staff.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a communication plan for all student data/document requests.
- Keep current with developments and trends in the Financial Aid field by participating in continuing education courses, professional
- organizations and seminars, attending conferences, reading current literature and maintaining professional contacts in the community.
- Prepare for and assist with student registration, Open House, and other College events. Speak at High School Nights as requested.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all daily office functions and procedures are completed in the absence of the Director.
- Responsible for reporting through query and assisting with all reporting functions when needed.

Assistant Women's Field Hockey Coach
Ferrum College, an NCAA Division III institution located in Ferrum, Virginia, is looking for a motivated, energetic and passionate individual to be our next Assistant Women’s Field Hockey Coach. This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports directly to the Head Field Hockey Coach.

Ferrum College is accepting applications for On-call Drivers to assist in meeting the transportation needs of Ferrum College. Vehicles used will be provided by the College. Applicants must be over 21 years of age; have a current drivers license and good driving record; have the ability to drive safely in all types traffic conditions in both rural and urban settings; and must be willing to submit to post-offer and annual background checks, including Motor Vehicle Report checks. Drivers may be required to undergo drug testing initially and periodically. Drivers are required to operate vehicles in accordance with the Ferrum College Vehicle Safety Policy and other College policies as procedures, as well as applicable state and federal laws.
