About Closings & Compressed Schedules
In the event of inclement weather while students are on campus, Ferrum College will announce one of two options for a regularly scheduled class day: "Classes Cancelled" or "Compressed Class Schedule." Whenever students are on campus the College will never be officially closed.Compressed Class Schedule
Compresses Schedule means that classes will be delayed until 11:00 a.m. and will then meet according to the published schedule. Again, the dining hall opens at 10:00 a.m. Evening classes will meet at their regular times, and the athletic practice window will begin at 4 p.m. Staff employees report are to report if you can do so safely.
Classes Cancelled
If classes are cancelled, classes will not meet and the announcement will specify the status for both day and evening classes. The dining hall opens at 10:00 a.m. Staff employees report are to report if you can do so safely.
College Closed
The College is closed entirely - remember that Ferrum College will never completely close when students are on campus.
