Statement:
The Office of Residence Education is committed to providing an
atmosphere that is conducive to both academic success and social
development in the residence halls at Ferrum College. Through
intentional educational programming, designed to promote community
and enhance living-learning environments, we will assist our students
in their holistic development. We will solicit our residents’
suggestions and recommendations through their involvement in Residence
Hall Councils and the Residence Hall Association (RHA). We are
committed to improving the quality of life, academic success,
and retention of our residents, and therefore dedicate ourselves
to cultivating behaviors that create responsible, civil, and inclusive
communities.
We are further committed to strengthening our educational bond
between the academic and student life aspects of this institution.
We recognize the need to educate the college community that “quality
of life” is not limited to the confines of the residence halls,
but involves every aspect of Ferrum College.
To this end, the Office of Residence Education accepts accountability
for the atmosphere existing in our residence halls, and vows to
build upon our tradition of being living learning laboratories
for academic achievement.
