Chief Debbie L. Hogan Debbie has been a police officer for 23 years. After 21 years, she retired from the Roanoke County Police Department where she was a Sergeant, a Detective, and concluded with heading the Violence Against Women Unit. She has been Chief of Police, at Ferrum College, since 1999 and an Instructor in Criminal Justice at the college since 1997. Debbie has a B.S. from Virginia Tech and a M.S. in Criminal Justice from Radford University. She is also a Certified Instructor for the Department of Criminal Justice. Assistant Chief Teresa Hale Assistant Chief Hale has been an officer at Ferrum College for seven years. She has a A.S. degree from Ferrum College and a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice from Bluefield College. Teresa is certified as a General Instructor for Cardinal Criminal Justice Academy in Salem, Virginia. Officer Margaret P. Gonzalez Officer Gonzalez
has been employed with the College for 12 years, 4 with Security and
8 as a Police Officer. She graduated from Cardinal Criminal Justice
Academy and has specialized training in Community Policing and Crime
prevention. She has further training in "Interview and Crisis Management
Techniques". She also oversees decal/tickets and campus parking

Officer Lynn Thomas, a 35-year law enforcement veteran, began his career with the Roanoke County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy and detective sergeant. He transferred to the State Fire Marshall’s Office as an arson investigator and bomb technician. He then transferred to the Virginia State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation as a special agent specializing in fire investigations, explosives and bombings and environmental crimes before retiring. In addition to working for the Ferrum College Police Department, he owns a private investigation business. Officer Thomas is a police science graduate of Virginia Western Community College. Jeff started his Law Enforcemnet career in the State of Ohio. He worked for the Peeble Police Department and then for the City of Greenfield Police Department, where he was awarded a "Drug Buster" citation and also an "Officer of the Year" citation. Officer Joseph Wooldridge Officer Joseph Wooldridge began his career in law enforcement in 2007 with Ferrum College. He graduated with a B.A. degree in Pastoral Theology from Victory Baptist College in 2003. Joseph was an Associate Pastor & Music Director in South Carolina for nearly four years. Recently he and his family relocated back to Franklin County where they both call home. He will be attending Cardinal Criminal Justice Academy, in January 2008. Officer Brandon Mitchell Officer Mitchell is a 2006 graduate of Ferrum College, where he recieved his B.S. in Biology with a minor in Criminal Justice. Officer Mitchell will be attending the Cardinal Criminal Justice Academy in February 2008. He has lived in Ferrum all of his life and enjoys living here.
