Ferrum Philosophy Conference
"Philosophy, Existence, and the Sacred”
Ferrum Philosophy Conference Photos - April 26, 2003
There has always been a complex, sometimes troubled relationship between
philosophy and the sacred. This has at times taken the form of divergences and
conflict – or simply mistrust – between philosophy and theology and philosophy and
religion. However, to a great extent, there opened in the Twentieth century and
beyond possibilities of convergence between philosophy and theology, for instance
in existentialism and post-modernism. This conference will not only explore the complex
relationships between philosophy and the sacred, but will also seek places of convergence.
