Spring 2003 Juried Student Show

April 8, 2003 kicked off the Spring 2003 Juried Student Show in which Ferrum's studio art students were given the opportunity to exhibit their work in the E. Taylor Greer Gallery located in the Stanley Library. A variety of two-dimensional and three-dimensional artworks were representative of the following courses: Drawing, Painting, Black & White Photography, Color Photography, Clay, Three-dimensional Design and Computer Art & Graphics. Students enrolled in these courses are required to enter works in the show. The exhibition is competitive; all submitted work went through a pre-selection process to even be considered for placement in the gallery. The works were then hung on the walls or placed on pedestals. Betty Tisinger, a Moneta-based artist and educator, judged the exhibit and awarded 6 excellence blue ribbons, 6 merit red ribbons, and 6 yellow honorable mention ribbons. One People's Choice white ribbon was awarded to Sandy Southard for her sculptural assemblage The Union's Outhouse. Visit the link below to view some images from the reception.
