Clio’s Corner

Greetings from the History Department! It has been a busy and productive spring.

We will honor our new Phi Alpha Theta members, dean’s list students, and graduating seniors at our annual dinner on April 12. Dr. Trochim will offer the first history E-term course in May. It is a Civil War battlefield tour course that is well-enrolled and promises to be both educational and fun. We have recently altered the degree designation of the social studies major to make it easier for history and social studies students to double major. This will be of particular advantage to those students who plan to teach in secondary schools. Faculty members continue to pursue multiple projects as the individual faculty notes in this issue show. Most important, we will have nine graduates in May and December. Some plan to teach or pursue other employment. Others plan on graduate school. To all, congratulations and best wishes!

Much more could be written, but that’s enough for now. For additional information, contact me at 540-365-4405 or at mrowan@ferrum.edu.
