The Alumni and Family Services Office is looking for dedicated parents and family members to join our newly established Parents Council.

What is the Ferrum College Parents Council?

 

• The Parents Council provides an opportunity for parents to play an active, supporting role in the education of their student;
• A chance to further the educational goals of the College by improving communication between parents and the College community;
• An opportunity for parents to gain valuable information;
• A forum for fellowship and networking with other parents.


The Parents Council will meet once during each semester. The next meeting will be during Family Weekend on Saturday, September 23rd. The Council will host a reception for all parents at the home of Dr. Jennifer L. Braaten, President of Ferrum College.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR INTEREST IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

Assisting the Alumni Office by offering suggestions for event planning, spreading the word about Ferrum to other families, hosting events on/off campus...etc.

Assisting the Admissions Office in recruiting new students through phone calls, letter writing, speaking with other parents...etc.

Assisting the Development Office through letter writing, phone calls to other parents...etc.

Assisting the Career Services Office through help with career fairs and other career networking opportunities.
