...This is an exciting time for Ferrum Outdoors as we look at fresh ways of engaging the students and faculty in the outdoors. We’re offering new programs on campus with bouldering sessions, mountain bike clinics, slacklining, geocacheing and recreational tree climbing to name a few. Also, we have a broader offering of weekend day trips such as rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking along with skiing and snowboarding in the winter months. What about the various extended breaks? We offer different trips each break so stick around to see what comes next!

...The new disc golf course, located behind the Fitness Center has just been finished and is a good way to blow off some steam and explore our beautiful campus. Want more speed? Bring your mountain bike to campus and ride the trails! With the help of volunteers, we were able to reopen 5 miles of trail and build an additional mile of new trail.

...Take a look at the calendar to see upcoming trips and activities. Ferrum Outdoors is constantly growing and in order to do this we need continued student and faculty involvement-both as participants and as volunteer leaders. Whether you’re an experienced adventurer or you’ve never spent time in the outdoors, come on out and play! If you’re interested in helping out on a scheduled trip, let me know. If there’s a trip that you want to take that is not on the schedule, come talk to me or join the Recreation Club and we’ll see if we can pull it together.

...I want to get as many people in the outdoors as possible!  I believe that time in the outdoors is good for the soul and everyone needs adventure-it’s one of the defining elements of being alive!

So-Where do YOU want to go!
