President of Ferrum College, Dr. Jerry M. Boone, presides over his 15th
and final Commencement
The
Cheatham Fellowship is awarded from the Willis P. and Mae C. Cheatham
Endowment for Professional Development, established in 1982, to further
scholarly and teaching endeavors at Ferrum College. The Cheatham Fellows
for 2002: Dr. R. Rex Stephenson & Dr. Michael R. Trochim
The
Senior Academic Excellence Award was given to Nicholas S. Elliott, of
Salem. Elliott earned 134 credits with a GPA of 3.91.
The
Arthur S. Owens Leadership Award was given to Jay R. Greeley of Leesburg.
This award is given to a student annually who best exemplifies leadership,
initiative, honor and outstanding character.
The
James T. Caitlin Citizenship Award was given to Rebecca R. Saunders,
of Madison Heights. This award is given to a student who has best
demonstrated qualities of citizenship and general leadership ability
as judged by vote of the faculty.
