The summer art show at Ferrum College, “Bountiful Women: The Art and Writing of an ‘Artist’s Way’ Cluster,” features the work of twelve women artists and writers from around the region. The exhibit will be in place at the E. Taylor Greer Art Gallery, located in the College’s Stanley Library, until September 5, 2001.

All of the artwork was inspired by bi-monthly meetings of the featured artists. The women used the structure of the book The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity as a guide to heal, discover, and renew their creative energies and powers.

An important focus of the group was to relearn the wisdom of children, how to play, be spontaneous, and to create from a sense of fun. The group recognized that a sense of duty and responsibility contaminates creative joy.

Featured artists include Barbara Norman Lashley, Amanda Gross, Linda Atkinson, and Gayle D. Torres.
