The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond awarded first place honors to Virginia Commonwealth University and second place to Ferrum College in its first College Fed competition.  On November 5, student teams delivered 20-minute presentations on monetary policy to economists at the Richmond Fed.  Teams were scored on content, teamwork, responses to question, presentation and style.

            Ferrum College team members included Andrew Nester, Nicholas Elliott, Kimberly Gordon, Angela Hodgson, Jay Greeley, and Todd King.  The Ferrum team was coached by Dr. Tsanacas.           

            The Richmond Fed sponsors College Fed Challenge, a regional academic competition, to encourage better understanding of the nation's central bank, the forces influencing economic conditions in the United States and abroad, and the ways the economy affects everyone.
