Dana Martin (D), candidate for the 8^th District of the House of Delegates, was first to speak from stump at the Ferrum "old-time traditional stump meeting".

   

Gubernatorial candidate Mark Warner (D) arrived by helicopter and hurried over to catch a few minutes of Ralph Stanley's set before climbing the stump.  Voters were treated to a few songs by the Bluegrass Brothers,the local bluegrass band who re-worked old-favorite "Dooley"for the Warner campaign.

    

    

    

The GOP candidates took to the stump behind Congressman Virgil Goode, Jr. (I), of the 9^th District.  Goode enthusiastically supported Earley, who stood flanked by Del. Allen Dudley (R), of the 9^th Legislative District, and surprise guest Senator George Allen (R), former governor of Virginia.

    

All candidates took time to talk to voters and national and local media.
