Ferrum College student and alumni photographers can get in on the scene at the 28th Annual Blue Ridge Folklife Festival to enter the Folklife Festival Photography Contest.  The Ferrum College Photography Club is sponsoring the second annual event.  Submissions will be taken on Wednesday, December 12 at Ferrum College's Stanley Library from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

All photos entered in the contest must have been taken at the Festival, held the fourth Saturday of October each year, and should capture the essence of the Folklife Festival in some way.

All entries must be either 5"by 7" or 8" by 10" in size and must be matted and framed.   There are adult and youth categories.  Ribbons will be given for first, second and third place in each category, and, where appropriate, honorable mention and best in show.

Members of the Roanoke Camera Club will judge the entries on December 13.  The photographs will be on display in the Stanley Library until December 15.  Select photographs will be displayed in the Blue Ridge Institute and Museum.

For more information on the photo contest, please call Ken McCreedy at (540) 365-4392.  For more information on the Festival, please call the Blue Ridge Institute at (540) 365-4416.
